We had a lovely afternoon at the Hi-Tide in Porthcawl.
Thanks to Steve for joining us on the Sousaphone - it's always a pleasure to play with Steve. Not only a great Jazz player, but Steve is a fantastic technician on such a difficult instrument to play.
Unfortunatley, John has hurt his back and had to sit down all afternoon - he tells us he was lifting a wheel-barrow over the church wall, I'm thinking he was stealing the lead from the roof :)
The band played well all afternoon and we sold some of our CDs - that's always a good gauge of the band's performance, the more CDs we sell the better we have played :)
The weather was exceptionally nice today, and I suppose that could explain the slightly reduced audience compared to other years - everyone loves the sunshine :) - however, the the audience were all about quality and not quantity today!!
Lots of good reports from the audience about the band and a lovely afternoon all round.
Thanks to Wayne Warlow and his team for organising the Porthcawl International Jazz Festival and we are alread looking forward to next year.
