This is one of Wales most popular jazz bands, based in the South Wales region. It was formed in 1993 with members from other local well known Welsh bands.
In addition to their regular Jazz venues at the Windsor Arms, Penarth, Cardiff, and Swansea Jazz Society, The Liberty St. have appeared several times in St. David's Hall, Cardiff, and at BBC Wales.
They are a regular attraction on the New Orleans Riverboat at Henley-on-Thames.
The members of the band are as follows;- Marcus on trumpet, flugelhorn and cornet; Dr. John on clarinet and saxophone; Simon on trombone; Dewi on banjo;Graham on drums and Derek on bass & sousaphone.
In 2000 they were the only Trad.Band to be invited to play at the Coleraine Milk Cup Festival in Northern Ireland.
They are featured regularly at Roysters Jazz weekends on the south coast of England, at the Lyme Regis Jazz Festival and have often appeared at the Brecon Jazz festival.
They are in demand for weddings, country fairs, summer fetes, barbecues,garden parties and publicity events and even funerals.
